CNA Stores CEO Receives Award For Work Supporting Veterans
CNA Stores is dedicated to supporting the veteran community throughout the Merrimack Valley and elsewhere in Massachusetts. Those efforts have been recognized by the City of Haverhill and the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce with the recent presentation of the John E Ratka Award to Rob DiFazio, CEO of CNA Stores. The award is in memory of Ratka who served in the US Navy for 26 years and was the Executive Director of the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center; he passed away in 2019. “This year’s winner, Robert DiFazio of CNA Stores, served in the US Navy Nuclear Power Program, and currently serves as Vice President of the Board for Veterans Northeast Outreach Program.”CNA isn’t engaged in philanthropic projects for recognition. It is part of our mission. Service is in our DNA. It is part of our culture. We have completed 448 community service hours throughout the Commonwealth in support of people experiencing unprecedented need. We do it for one reason – our communities need help. Part of the foundation of CNA Stores is the emphasis on giving back. That mission will continue in 2021 and beyond.

In accepting the John E Ratka Award, Rob said, “I am humbled to be following in the footsteps of previous winners like Lt. General Jack Gardner, retired Army veteran, and John Ratka, a US Navy veteran…As a retired Navy veteran, I am passionate about giving back to the veteran community and I am happy to have the opportunity to do that as Vice President of the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center and owner of a small business that prioritizes hiring veterans.  It is part of the CNA Stores culture to give back to the communities where we live and work…I look forward to continuing to do that through initiatives like our Snow Angels program, our involvement in food drives and through other programs associated with the Haverhill Chamber. Thank you for this recognition. It means a lot to me and to my team at CNA Stores.”
